Moorea Humpback Whale and Marine Life Tour

About This Experience
Pacifik Attitude runs this three-hour humpback whale and marine life trip on Moorea. It holds a 4.9 rating from 208 reviews and starts at $347 per person, the second-highest per-person price among the Moorea whale tours on this site, with transport included.
The listing does not publish a fixed meeting point; transport is part of the price, and reviewers describe the pickup as easy. A captain and a guide take the boat outside the reef to search for humpbacks during the legal season, 20 July to 20 November.
When the whales' behavior and the sea state allow it, the guide takes the group swimming, keeping 15 m from the whales under the local rules. Reviewers describe guides who explain whale behavior before getting in, and mention swims with curious whales and a lone juvenile, along with sightings of spinner dolphins, melon-headed whales, sharks and stingrays. The operator frames the half day around the whole marine environment, so expect time with other wildlife as well as the humpbacks. Swims and sightings are never guaranteed.
Children are allowed on board from age 5, and the listing asks for at least a moderate level of fitness. One reviewing couple traveled with a non-swimmer who was well looked after, so a pair where only one person swims can book together. It is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health, or for pregnant travelers.
Snorkeling gear and snacks are included, and the listing also names breakfast and lunch among the inclusions; ask the operator what is served on your departure. Viator offers free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time.

This trip was amazing. We travelled as a couple (including one non swimmer). Doris and the captain were extremely helpful and friendly.

Amazing tour! Would recommend highly to anyone. We saw spinner dolphins, swam with two humpback whales, melon head whales randomly, sharks, stingrays and lots of fish.

We did the 5am tour and the water was very calm! We found a lone juvenile that swam with us for 25 minutes!! We then found a whale playing next to a sleeping whale and we watched all of the different behaviors! The guides were very helpful and professional! Oniel was awesome.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is transport included?
Yes. The listing includes private transportation, and reviewers describe the pickup as easy. No fixed meeting point is published, so confirm the pickup place and time with the operator after you book.
Will I swim with whales?
Possibly. The guide takes the group in when the whales' behavior and the sea state allow it, and many reviewers report swims. Sightings and swims are never guaranteed.
Can a non-swimmer come?
Yes. One reviewing couple included a non-swimmer who watched from the boat and was well looked after by the crew. The listing asks for at least a moderate level of fitness for everyone on board.
Can children join?
Children are allowed on board from age 5. Whether a child can swim depends on the guide's judgment on the day, so ask the operator when you book.
What else might we see?
Reviewers mention spinner dolphins, melon-headed whales, sharks, stingrays and plenty of fish alongside the humpbacks. The trip is framed around marine life in general, so time is spent with other animals too.
What happens if the weather is bad or the whales do not show?
Trips outside the reef depend on the sea state, and the operator can cancel on rough days. If that happens you are offered another date or a full refund, and you can cancel yourself for free up to 24 hours before the start. There is no refund if the trip runs and the whales stay out of reach, because sightings are never guaranteed.
